Your loan terms/conditions, interest rate, benefits, and any balances remain the same. Please refer to your welcome letter for more details.

Servicing transfers are a normal business practice that happens from time to time. MOHELA is replacing Navient/Earnest as the servicer of your loans. Please note: MOHELA has not purchased or merged with Navient or Earnest.

The loan owner holds the loan agreement and has the right to collect from the borrower.

A loan servicer handles details on behalf of the loan owner, such as collecting and processing payments and answering questions. As your new loan servicer, MOHELA will work with you on repayment plans and will assist you with other issues related to your student loans.

Continue to use the same address you use to send payments and address your check to MOHELA. If you’re not sure what payment address to use, visit our Contact Us page and locate the appropriate payment address for your loan type.

Navient has transitioned all its student loan servicing to MOHELA (with some rare exceptions, such as defaulted loans).

All Earnest Private Student Loans will transition to MOHELA for servicing. However, if you have a Student Loan Refinance or Personal Loan, Earnest will continue to service those loans.

Tip: You can always log in to your account to view all Navient and/or Earnest loans that we service for you.

The interest rate on your loan, whether fixed or variable, is governed by the terms of your loan agreement. The servicer must adhere to those terms when servicing your loan. Interest rates on federal student loans are set by Congress, whereas interest rates on private loans are set by the lender at the time of loan origination.

The interest rate may be variable or fixed for the life of the loan, depending on the terms of your loan agreement.

This is your one-stop shop for managing all of your loans serviced by MOHELA on behalf of Navient and Earnest. You can access your account information, make payments, and view your loan details in one convenient location.

Please note that if you have loans serviced by MOHELA on behalf of other lenders, such as the Department of Education, you'll need to manage them separately. Each lender has its own website, payment address, and contact information to best cater to your unique needs.
